The process of installation will vary from renovation to renovation based on the amount and type of work that’s required. Generally, the below schedule is how The Kitchen Design Centre would run a renovation process.

Purchase Kitchen

In your final appointment with your Designer, you can sign the contracts and pay the deposit for your new kitchen. You then own your plans. The Designer then forwards your plans and specifications to our factory.

“From the first encounter with your excellent receptionist and with your designer, we knew we were in good hands.”
– Mario & Rick, Albert Park

“I couldn’t be happier with my new kitchen. The service that I received was exemplary and communication was frequent and informative.” – Stacey, East Melbourne

Check Measure

Within a week of your plans being submitted to our factory, our Client Services Co-ordinator will contact you to arrange a time for your Client Manager to meet you and Check Measure the site before any construction work commences.

Manufacturing Lead Time

During this 6-8 week period, your kitchen is being manufactured in our factory. You will receive a schedule indicating the dates of the renovation so you know what to expect and when. On the indicated date, we will come and remove your old kitchen and repair the space for the new kitchen to be installed.

“I was impressed with the attention to detail in all areas of the project and the whole process was seamless and stress free” – Lynda, Forest Hill

“It has been an absolute pleasure to deal with everyone involved in the whole process.” – Egils & Sandra, Croydon Hills

Week 1

On the specified date, we will remove the old kitchen and deliver all the new cabinetry to start the installation process.

Week 2-3

Now that your cabinetry is installed, the stone mason will come and take a template of the area for your benchtop. Then the stone will be cut, prepared and installed.

“We’re delighted with the outcome. We were particularly happy with the way problems were solved and that the job was brought in on time and budget.” – Laurie & Kirsty, Melbourne

“The Kitchen Design Centre is everything it says it is! Everyone was professional, on time, courteous and knowledgeable. Not once was I anxious, stressed or concerned. I have nothing but praise for all the staff involved. “ – Julie, Ferntree Gully

Week 4-5

Once your benchtop is installed, the plumber and other trades can connect your services meaning your kitchen is now in working order. If you’re having a glass splashback, now is when the template will be taken. The glass will then be prepared and installed. If you’re having a tile splashback, this can be installed after the trades have completed the reconnection of your services.

Week 6-7

During this time all final adjustments are made and your Client Manager proceeds with the final handover procedure. They will provide you with all receipts, warranty documents and certificates and a copy of our Kitchen Care booklet.

“Choosing The Kitchen Design Centre has been one of the best decisions we have ever made. From our initial visit to the Eltham showroom and then through to our final inspection we have had the best service we could have hoped for with such a big renovation.” John & Jo, St Helena
