Michael Simpson

Michael Simpson is one of our top designers here at The Kitchen Design Centre and also one of the founding Directors. His experience in design and cabinet making kitchens extends back over 20 years. With a strong passion for kitchen design, Michael puts in every effort to design a kitchen that best suits the client’s needs all the while making sure it looks beautiful too. One of the biggest joys Michael takes out of designing a new kitchen for his clients is seeing the whole project unfold. From the first appointment when he measures and sees the old kitchen for the first time to; designing the new kitchen to the client’s exact needs and wants to; visiting the home again after installation to see the finished product. This is a very exciting and rewarding process.

Every client is different, every home and lifestyle, kitchen size and appliances is different from one to the next. Michael enjoys meeting new clients, getting to know their lifestyle and kitchen needs and creating something that is truly perfect for them. With every kitchen, there are new challenges and Michael likes the excitement this brings and the creativity it allows him to use to come up with an effective solution. Every kitchen needs different hardware and products so the combinations are endless.

Michael is a qualified cabinet maker and has a Diploma in Interior Design. Having a cabinet making background means Michael is able to get the absolute best out of the cabinetry he designs because he understands the construction fully. Adding the interior design element to this allows him to create aesthetically beautiful kitchens that marry into homes seamlessly. Both the Eltham kitchen showroom and the Blackburn kitchen showroom have elements of Michaels design flare.
One of Michael’s proudest achievements in his kitchen design career was designing and completing the kitchen for Peter Alexander (pyjama king!) and his partner Tony Reynolds in South Yarra. This project included the kitchen, laundry and hair salon for Tony to work from home. The project was completed successfully and ended with very happy clients!
In addition to his passion for kitchens, Michael enjoys spending time with his three children, playing football and cricket and calls himself a “struggling musician”.
