Face Lift or Replace?

Face Lift or Replace?

Replace VS Face Lift

When considering a new kitchen space many people face the important decision of whether to do a simple face lift or to pull out their old kitchen completely and put in a brand new one. At The Kitchen Design Centre our kitchen designers are experienced and equipped to assist you with the advice you need. A face lift may seem like a simple task, one of just replacing the cupboard doors and outside edges of cupboards and installing new benchtops and splashbacks. However, this option can have its concerns and limitations. Why not visit one of our kitchen showrooms and take a tour with one of our knowledgeable kitchen showroom staff. While your new cupboard doors will look fresh and new for a few years, the internal skeleton (known as the carcass) of your kitchen continues to age and become run down. Any potential internal issues or damage goes unnoticed, and later the carcass needs to be replaced but the doors do not. You are then up for an inevitable expense you were initially trying to avoid. Often the cost of a face lift is no less than a complete renovation because the process can be more labour intensive for the tradespeople. There is more work to be done in your home and in limited space than if they created new cabinetry in their factory. Cost could be saved depending on the extent of the facelift. Also, replacing your kitchen in full can allow you to change the design layout to suit your changing lifestyle needs (adding drawers, etc) and increase the value of your home immensely. The kitchen designers at The Kitchen Design Centre are here to help you make the important decisions that affect the life and integrity of your kitchen.
